Espresso machines beta · De'Longhi

De'Longhi Dedica

Owners keep it for pulling good shots on a budget, once they pair it with a better grinder and swap the pressurized basket.

Beta. Fewer accounts than the vacuum pages and the subjects are still settling in. Read the counts, not the headlines.

N/A*

No owner ratings here yet. What is on this page is our summary of 22 public owner accounts from forum threads and video comments, written by us. None of it was posted to Still Kicks by an owner. The number arrives when owners rate it here, and comes only from them.

What keeps coming up

Owners who upgraded their grinder and switched to an unpressurized basket say they're pulling good shots and are happy with the Dedica for its price.

What keeps coming up against it

Owners running it with pre-ground coffee and the stock pressurized basket describe terrible, watery extraction and aren't sure what they're doing wrong.

What owners praise

Nothing with a clear majority yet. Owners who raised these subjects were split, or too few to judge.

Where owners have concerns

Nothing with a clear majority yet. Owners who raised these subjects were split, or too few to judge.

Counted from the owners who raised each subject, not from everyone. Nobody wrote this list; these are the subjects owners kept bringing up on their own.

13 more subjects came up from fewer than 4 owners each, which is not enough for a fair reading. To see how it stacks up, compare it with another machine.

Life with it

Once you've made the upgrades (a real grinder, a bottomless portafilter, an unpressurized basket), the machine settles into daily use fine, and some owners have built out full workflows around it: a dosing cup that doubles as a scale, a shot timer that auto-stops pulls, and a storage bin that fits the machine, grinder, and accessories together with a dedicated extension cord.

What doesn't get resolved is the stock setup. Owners who stick with pre-ground coffee and the pressurized basket keep hitting the same wall of thin, watery shots, and at least one has had to work around an awkward water source, carrying parts to a sink 10 meters from where the machine actually lives.

Reliability & repairs

Nothing in these accounts points to hardware failure. The complaints are about shot quality and workflow, not the machine breaking down. Owners who fix the extraction problem with a grinder and basket swap report being satisfied, which suggests the machine itself does what it's supposed to when fed right.

The long-term picture here is thin: these accounts are about getting shots right day-to-day, not about how the machine ages over months or years, so there isn't enough here to say how it holds up over time.

The same owner, the same machine, asked again at each of these. It needs real owners answering a real follow-up, so it stays empty until they do. We are not drawing a line through numbers we do not have.

Where this came from

Counted by type. These are public discussions we read and summarised in our own words; none was submitted to Still Kicks, and none carried proof of purchase that we know of. The individual accounts are kept on file behind every claim; they are not reproduced here.

* N/A means we do not yet have enough data for a fair score. A rating appears once owners have rated this machine here. A subject is only judged once at least 4 owners have raised it; below that we show the count and not a verdict. Praised or Concerns means at least 6 in 10 of everyone who raised the subject leaned that way; anything less is shown as split, with the counts. Mixed means an owner said both good and bad things about that one subject.

Every figure here is counted from public accounts written by people who said they own the product, and summarised by Still Kicks in its own words. None of it was submitted here as a review, and nothing is a manufacturer claim, a lab test or an estimate. The accounts behind each claim are kept on file, not reproduced.

Owner ratings are the point. As they come in they become the page, and this baseline moves in behind them.
