Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

Owners keep the S8 Pro Ultra for how well it maps and mops a whole floor without babysitting, and many say it's still the best robovac they've owned two years in.

No owner ratings here yet. What is on this page is our summary of 104 public owner accounts from forum threads and video comments, written by us. None of it was posted to Still Kicks by an owner. The number arrives when owners rate it here, and comes only from them.

Praised most for app usability (7 of the 11 who raised it); the most common concern is customer support (13 of 19).

What keeps coming up

Owners moving from other brands consistently say the S8 Pro Ultra's navigation and obstacle mapping outperformed what they had before, with several calling it a decisive upgrade over the Roomba or Shark models they'd used previously.

What keeps coming up against it

Customer support is the sharpest recurring complaint: multiple owners describe Roborock's trade-in evaluation process as denying or lowballing units in near-mint condition, and one owner with a manufacturing defect says repeated repairs never fixed the charging-dock connection issue.

Counted from the owners who raised each subject, not from everyone. Nobody wrote this list; these are the subjects owners kept bringing up on their own.

7 more subjects came up from fewer than 4 owners each, which is not enough for a fair reading. To see how it stacks up, compare it with another machine.

Life with it

Once the routine sets in, the mapping and mopping keep doing what they did on day one for most owners. Full-floor cleaning runs without constant intervention, and several people directly compare it favorably to newer competitors two years after buying it. The app, while described as needing some polish, is generally called usable and more refined than at least one rival's.

What owners adjust to: cords and wires on the floor still trip it up regularly, requiring manual untangling, and it doesn't see well in the dark. Carpet performance and hair tangling come up as smaller, recurring frictions rather than dealbreakers for most who mention them.

Reliability & repairs

The core cleaning function holds up for many owners. One account is still very satisfied two years in, and several who tested other flagships came back to how well the S8 navigates and cleans. But reliability itself is a real fault line: multiple owners report inconsistent behavior over time (working fine for days, then getting stuck on nothing), and one owner had the unit fail three times with repairs that never resolved it, alongside a separate account describing a charging-dock connection defect that appeared about a year in.

The long-term picture is mixed rather than thin: there's a real split between owners who report years of solid use and a smaller group reporting breakdowns and support friction, including disputed trade-in evaluations.

Does it still kick?

The same owner, the same machine, asked again at each of these. It needs real owners answering a real follow-up, so it stays empty until they do. We are not drawing a line through numbers we do not have.

Counted by type. These are public discussions we read and summarised in our own words; none was submitted to Still Kicks, and none carried proof of purchase that we know of. The individual accounts are kept on file behind every claim; they are not reproduced here.

* N/A means we do not yet have enough data for a fair score. A rating appears once owners have rated this machine here. A subject is only judged once at least 4 owners have raised it; below that we show the count and not a verdict. Praised or Concerns means at least 6 in 10 of everyone who raised the subject leaned that way; anything less is shown as split, with the counts. Mixed means an owner said both good and bad things about that one subject.

Every figure here is counted from public accounts written by people who said they own the product, and summarised by Still Kicks in its own words. None of it was submitted here as a review, and nothing is a manufacturer claim, a lab test or an estimate. The accounts behind each claim are kept on file, not reproduced.

Owner ratings are the point. As they come in they become the page, and this baseline moves in behind them.
