Owners keep the Bose 700 for rich, full sound and the ease of wireless at a desk, and several still use pairs that are many years old, though Bose support and the app get little credit.

What keeps coming up
Sound is the thing most owners talk about, and far more were positive than negative, though the theme is divided: many describe a rich, full presentation with a wide soundstage that they prefer to newer Bose models, while others hear muddiness or a whistle from the noise cancelling and say the factory tuning needs EQ.
Bose customer support is a clear complaint: owners who needed help describe it as among the worst of any tech company, with published email addresses that no longer work and phone as the only route left.
The Bose 700 is a pair of wireless over-ear headphones that block outside noise. It's for commuters, travellers and office workers who want quiet and clear calls. You can also plug it in with a cable.

What the specs mean
20 hours is about two long-haul flights, or a few days of commuting, between charges. If the battery is flat, 15 minutes on a USB-C cable gives you a few hours of listening. With 11 levels you can choose how much outside sound to block, from almost none to as much as possible. Bose gives no water rating that we could confirm, so don't wear them in rain or for workouts.

What lasts is the sound and the convenience. Owners who also own expensive wired headphones say the Bose 700 is what they reach for at the computer, because most of the day is video, gaming and browsing and not having a cable outweighs a small drop in fidelity. One long-term owner still finds the pairs sound rich and full years on, and prefers them to the newer Bose models they have tried. Noise cancelling is divided: one owner on a metro train describes outside conversation at full cancellation as a faint whisper, while others call it weaker than expected or prefer an older Bose model for both cancelling and comfort.
The adjustments are around software and connections. Owners who care about EQ find the Bose app gives too little control and move to a third-party equaliser to tame sibilance and harshness in the upper mids. With two sources connected, a phone notification can pull the headphones off a TV and they will not switch back until powered off and on. Comfort is also divided: fine for desk use, less so on long flights for some.
Reliability & repairs
The strongest long-term account is a pair still in daily use after eight or nine years. The part that wears is the ear pads. One owner who sleeps in them every night with noise cancelling at maximum has replaced the pads about five times in six years and considers that reasonable given the use. Nobody in the sample describes the electronics or the headband failing, and a few owners bought used pairs cheaply and are happy with them.
Long-term accounts are thin. Durability was raised by a small number of owners and they were divided, and most of the comments behind the durability, build and volume themes were too short or too off-topic to draw a firm pattern from. If something does go wrong, the support theme suggests getting help from Bose is the hard part, with dead contact channels and only the phone line left.

Counted from the owners who raised each subject, not from everyone. A subject is judged once at least 4 owners raise it.
32 more subjects came up from fewer than 4 owners each, which is not enough for a fair reading. To see how it stacks up, compare it with another machine.

The same owner, asked again at each point. Fills in as owners answer.
Own this one?
Two questions: how long you have had it, and anything you would
like to say about it. Then we ask again as it ages. This helps our
mission.
Still good used? What a used buyer should know, from owners a year or more in
Among the 4 owner accounts here that gave a duration, 0 described a failure.
Before you buy one used, ask the seller: how old it is, whether it was ever repaired and by whom, and whether any of the parts above have been replaced. Ask to see it run. A receipt tells you the warranty start date; most makers honour the term only for the first owner.
