Dreame X40 Ultra

Owners keep the X40 Ultra for the daily vacuum-and-mop it does without being asked, trading some patience for setup and support against floors that stay clean on their own.

No owner ratings here yet. What is on this page is our summary of 116 public owner accounts from forum threads and video comments, written by us. None of it was posted to Still Kicks by an owner. The number arrives when owners rate it here, and comes only from them.

Praised most for mopping quality (12 of the 18 who raised it); the most common concern is customer support (10 of 16).

What keeps coming up

Overall satisfaction runs strongly positive (13 of 16 accounts): owners describe it replacing other vacuums and mops entirely, with one owner saying the only chore left is a weekly clean of the machine and its dock.

What keeps coming up against it

Customer support draws clear complaints (10 of 16 negative): owners describe long waits, refurb-swap fears, and giving up on support after repeated genuine complaints went nowhere.

Counted from the owners who raised each subject, not from everyone. Nobody wrote this list; these are the subjects owners kept bringing up on their own.

14 more subjects came up from fewer than 4 owners each, which is not enough for a fair reading. To see how it stacks up, compare it with another machine.

Life with it

The appeal, once it is set up, is that it's mostly invisible: owners set it to vacuum and mop every morning while they're out or upstairs, and it picks up daily mess from kids or pets without a second thought. Several say it's replaced pricier manual vacuums and mops outright, which they now barely touch.

What people adjust to is the app and the edges. More than one owner finds the app's settings buried and confusing compared to competitors, especially in the automatic Genius mode, and mopping along walls and edges is a recurring frustration: the mop pads sometimes don't extend fully into corners. Weekly maintenance on the machine and dock becomes routine rather than a chore for owners who stay on top of it.

Reliability & repairs

Some units run trouble-free well past a year, with owners doing little more than the weekly clean of the machine and dock. But recurring hardware and firmware issues do show up: mop pad holders failing to auto-install after firmware updates, base stations that stop detecting the vacuum bag, and units becoming unreliable somewhere in the 6-to-12-month range for a noticeable minority of accounts.

When something does go wrong, the path back to a working machine is the weak point. Support accounts skew heavily negative, with owners describing slow responses, being sent in circles, and in at least one case taking the base station apart themselves rather than risk a refurb swap through official channels. Long-term data here is thin: most detailed accounts top out around one to two years of ownership, so how the machine performs past that point isn't well covered yet.

The same owner, the same machine, asked again at each of these. It needs real owners answering a real follow-up, so it stays empty until they do. We are not drawing a line through numbers we do not have.

* N/A means we do not yet have enough data for a fair score. A rating appears once owners have rated this machine here. A subject is only judged once at least 4 owners have raised it; below that we show the count and not a verdict. Praised or Concerns means at least 6 in 10 of everyone who raised the subject leaned that way; anything less is shown as split, with the counts. Mixed means an owner said both good and bad things about that one subject.

Every figure here is counted from public accounts written by people who said they own the product, and summarised by Still Kicks in its own words. None of it was submitted here as a review, and nothing is a manufacturer claim, a lab test or an estimate. The accounts behind each claim are kept on file, not reproduced.

Owner ratings are the point. As they come in they become the page, and this baseline moves in behind them.
