Still Kicks

A bagged canister owners keep for strong suction and carpet cleaning that beats what they had before, and most of the people who raised how it is built are happy with it.

What keeps coming up

Suction is the thing most owners bring up, and most of them bring it up to say it pulls dirt out of carpet and rugs in a way cheaper vacuums they owned before did not. Several point to the powered brush head as the reason it works so well on carpet.

What keeps coming up against it

Customer support is the one theme where the accounts run clearly negative: most of the owners who dealt with support came away unhappy. The comments supplied give little detail on what went wrong with Miele specifically.

Life with it

What keeps pleasing owners after the first weeks is the pull. One owner with a heavy-shedding dog says it cleans carpet very well and does not feel heavy in use, lighter in fact than the upright it replaced. Another moved to it after years of cheap vacuums that lost suction and cracked, and found small design details they had not known to want: a proper filter and a step-on power button among them. Owners doing hard floors mostly say the parquet attachment matters and the powered head does not.

The adjustments are small but real. The cord is short, and more than one owner says so. On the highest suction setting the head is hard to push across carpet, so at least one household runs the slider a notch down for everyday passes and only goes to full power when the carpet needs it. Hair tangling divides owners roughly down the middle: some have no trouble, others find hair wraps where they would rather it did not. Getting pet hair off mixed upholstery can mean switching between upholstery tools.

Reliability & repairs

The accounts that speak to longevity are mostly positive. One owner who paid about three hundred dollars for a C1 reports no issues and plenty of dirt in the bag. Another who owns several older Mieles says the fittings loosen up over time and that this is normal break-in rather than failure, on a machine designed for a very long service life. Owners who raised repairability leaned positive, though a couple did not.

Long-term accounts are thin. Only a handful of owners describe holding the machine for years, and the supplied comments do not describe a specific C1 breakdown or what it took to fix one. Durability was raised by too few people to judge. If you want to know what fails at year five, these owners cannot tell you yet.

Counted from the owners who raised each subject, not from everyone. A subject is judged once at least 4 owners raise it.

15 more subjects came up from fewer than 4 owners each, which is not enough for a fair reading. To see how it stacks up, compare it with another machine.

Two questions: how long you have had it, and anything you would like to say about it. Then we ask again as it ages. This helps our mission.
