What keeps coming up
The dongle is the easy connection: put it and the earbuds into pairing mode and they link without fuss, and with lossless files it brings out small details in well-recorded tracks.

Owners keep the BTD 700 to feed lossless audio to Sennheiser earbuds and headphones, and most who compare it say it pairs easily and pulls out detail that plain Bluetooth misses.

Sound quality is praised overall, but a minority say the dongle sounds much like competing dongles, and that the benefit only shows with lossless sources and on some recordings, not all.
Pick up to three. You get a page with just those, side by side, on the subjects owners raised.
Once set up, the dongle becomes the default way owners listen at a desk or on a laptop: pair once, plug in, and the Momentum or HDB headphones connect and stay connected. Owners who care about lossless playback say this is the point of the thing, and several rotate it between Momentum 4, Momentum 5 and HDB 630 without trouble.
The adjustment is on the source side. Streaming services compress audio unless the phone's Bluetooth is off, and some owners want the Smart Control+ app to work in that state; others say the app remains reachable with multipoint enabled. A few also note that if the phone or computer lacks aptX Adaptive, the sound difference shrinks. Sound personalization and EQ in the app get credit for tuning bass to taste, though a few owners find the neutral default good enough to leave alone.
What owners describe keeping working is the pairing itself and the lossless link. Firmware has stayed at the release version for at least one owner, with no updates offered in the dongle control software, and that owner treats it as stable rather than neglected. One owner had a hard time on a MacBook M4: the dongle and headphones paired, but switching output to the dongle gave no sound, and they were still asking for help.
Long-term accounts are thin. Most comments come from owners a few days or weeks in, comparing dongles or settling in with new headphones. There is no clear picture yet of wear, connection drift or support over a year or more, and this page will be updated as those accounts arrive.
Nothing has a clear majority against it yet. Counted from the owners who raised each subject, not from everyone. A subject is judged once at least 4 owners raise it.
12 more subjects came up from fewer than 4 owners each, which is not enough for a fair reading. To see how it stacks up, compare it with another machine.
The same owner, asked again at each point. Fills in as owners answer.
Two questions: how long you have had it, and anything you would like to say about it. Then we ask again as it ages. This helps our mission.

Before you buy one used, ask the seller: how old it is, whether it was ever repaired and by whom, and whether any of the parts above have been replaced. Ask to see it run. A receipt tells you the warranty start date; most makers honour the term only for the first owner.
