Owners keep this tandem WOLED for games, where its one recurring issue, faint vertical lines on grey, mostly stays out of sight; it shows up more on grey desktop apps and dark-mode browsing.
The vertical lines are not a given in normal use: one owner had not noticed them in Cyberpunk at all, and another said running a pixel refresh cleared lines that had been plainly visible at 40 percent grey, to the point of not seeing them even at 90 percent.
Faint vertical lines and banding on flat grey backgrounds (a Steam friends list, a search page, a site in dark mode) came up in every account that raised the theme, and one owner found it distracting enough to return the monitor after about a week.

The pattern owners describe is that games hide the panel's weakness and desktop work exposes it. In a dark, busy game like Cyberpunk one owner never spotted the lines; in a flat, grey-heavy game like Little Nightmares the same owner saw them clearly. Grey app backgrounds, a friends list, a search results page, and dark-mode browsing are where people go looking and find them.
How much this matters varies by person and by unit. One owner has to zoom in to see it at all and shrugs it off. Another describes faint lines plus slight dirty screen effect and lives with it. A third found the banding while browsing in Dark Reader too distracting and sent it back, saying they knew going in that this was a risk with tandem WOLED panels.
The one thing owners do about the lines is run the panel's pixel refresh. For one owner that made a large difference, taking lines that were obvious at mid grey down to invisible at light grey. Owners frame the lines as a trait shared across current tandem WOLED monitors, with severity ranging from barely there to bad depending on the unit.
Long-term accounts are thin. Only three owners raised the vertical lines theme, and the site has marked it too few to judge; the longest ownership mentioned is about a week before a return. Nothing here covers burn-in, failures, or how the panel looks after months of use, so this page cannot yet say how the MO27Q28G holds up over time.
