Ecovacs X1

Owners keep the Ecovacs X1 for daily hands-off mopping that leaves hard floors genuinely clean, and they accept that getting help from Ecovacs when something goes wrong is slow.

What keeps coming up

Mopping is the reason most owners keep it. Several who came from other combo robots, including cheaper Roborock and eufy units, say this is the first one whose mopping they trust enough to run every day, sometimes more than once a day.

What keeps coming up against it

Customer support is the clearest complaint. Owners describe long waits for repairs and returns, service centres far from where they live, and going through the retailer instead because Ecovacs itself was not helping.

Life with it

What stays good is the floor. Owners who run it daily say the mopping does the job on hard floors and that setup and everyday use are simple: ease of use is one of the few themes with almost nobody complaining. Several bought it because mobility or time made cleaning hard, and for them the point is that it runs without being watched.

What they adjust to is the navigation. Obstacle avoidance divides owners nearly down the middle. Some say it handles their homes fine; others say it snags on cords, mat corners and low furniture often enough that they returned it within the store window. Hair wrapping around the brush is a steady complaint, and opinions on the app, suction and battery are split rather than settled. Price is a sore point: more owners think it costs too much than think it is fairly priced.

Reliability & repairs

Among those who raised reliability, more had problems than did not, and the ones who did found the repair process the harder part. One Australian owner, far from the only service centre, went through the retailer under consumer law and was told the repair would take weeks. Hair tangling is the one wear issue that comes up repeatedly.

The long-term record here is thin. Fewer than forty accounts spoke to reliability at all, and a number of the comments gathered under that label are about other products entirely, so they tell us nothing about this machine. Take the split verdict as a placeholder until more owners have lived with it for a year or more.
