eufy E28

Owners who keep the E28 keep it for floors that look professionally cleaned and a roller mop that handles spills, accepting a machine that has failed on many of them and a slow support process.

What keeps coming up

The strongest praise is for how clean the house is after a run: several owners compare the result to what their hired cleaner leaves, and one notes it keeps its own dustbin empty without fuss.

What keeps coming up against it

Customer support is the clearest complaint. Owners describe months of back and forth, a unit sent back for repair that came home still broken with screws missing, and a wait of several months for a refurbished replacement that never became available.

Life with it

Once the novelty passes, the daily payoff for the people who are happy is a house that stays clean with little effort, and a roller mop that is good at picking up liquids and wet messes. Suction draws a few compliments too. Mopping quality is where owners divide: more are satisfied than not, but a fair number say the mop work is underwhelming compared with what they expected, and one replacement unit clogged and never mopped at all.

Obstacle avoidance is also divided. One owner was impressed it steered around cat sick and droppings that earlier robots had driven through. Others say it snags on cords and thin rugs, gets tangled even after the items are moved, and gets stuck constantly on flat-bar chair and table legs unless a no-go zone is set. The dock is big and loud when it empties the bin. The app is a sore point in a small number of accounts: workarounds like small-zone workflows drain the battery faster, and one owner could not work out how to switch the robot off at all. Occasional dirty water drops on the floor are reduced by keeping the dirty water reservoir clean.

Reliability & repairs

Reliability is a clear concern in the accounts here, and almost every owner who raised it had a failure. The pattern is a unit breaking inside the first seven to fifteen months: a mop retraction error, a clogging and leaking mop system, and a design where water reaches the motherboard and shorts it. Build quality and water leaking come up separately, always negatively. What owners do about it is contact support, accept a complimentary repair if offered, wait for a replacement, or give up and return the machine. Some had a replacement fail the same way as the first.

Long-term positive accounts are thin. A couple of owners say they have been happy so far with few issues beyond the odd water drop, but the site does not have enough owners running the E28 trouble-free over a long stretch to say how a good unit holds up over years. The evidence on long life, as it stands, leans toward failure and a hard road to a fix.

Nothing has a clear majority against it yet. Counted from the owners who raised each subject, not from everyone. A subject is judged once at least 4 owners raise it.
