Owners keep the LG C7 for a picture and true blacks that still hold up years on, and they weigh that against a burn-in risk that has caught some of them.
The picture is the thing. Owners who later moved to newer or brighter sets still describe the C7 as the reference they measure the replacement against, and one long-term owner says it still looks excellent to the naked eye after many years and tens of thousands of hours.
Permanent screen burn-in is the clear complaint. Several owners show retained images that did not clear, including one who says it happened despite careful use and another who says LG never addressed it.

What keeps people attached is the contrast. Blacks that are actually black, no blooming, and colours that owners who have since bought mini-LED sets still compare favourably. Several of those owners say the newer set is close on blacks and much brighter, but they frame it as close to the C7, not better than it. One owner has moved the C7 to a games room rather than get rid of it.
The adjustments are about brightness and habits. Brightness is mostly praised, but one owner with the 2017 model found dark scenes too dark in HDR games and spent a lot of time in the settings. Owners who have been burned by burn-in describe babying the set, and some still got image retention anyway, so the routine care becomes part of ownership.
The panel itself keeps working. The longest account is a set approaching ten years and over thirty thousand hours with no faults, and only faint retention visible in a dedicated screen test. The few accounts on panel longevity are all positive, but there are too few to judge.
Burn-in is where owners divide. Roughly half say their C7 has stayed clean, the other half show visible retained images, and the accounts under the separate screen burn-in theme are mostly negative. What owners do about it is mostly replace the set: several moved to a newer LG OLED or to a mini-LED and did not get a repair. Beyond that one long-running account, detailed long-term reports are thin, and this page reflects that.
