Sony A90K

Owners keep the A90K for its picture: an OLED image that still looks bright and clean next to Mini LED sets, and that holds up as a daily gaming screen for PS5 and PC.

What keeps coming up

The picture is the reason people buy it and the reason they keep it. Owners who compared it in person against Mini LED and standard LED sets say it did not look dim by comparison, and one who games on the 42 inch model every night for two years describes the image as still perfect.

What keeps coming up against it

No theme was raised against it, so there is no recurring complaint to report. The closest thing in the accounts is one owner who found the 48 inch too large for everyday desk use and moved to a smaller Asus OLED monitor, while planning to bring the Sony back for certain games and streaming.

Life with it

What still delights people after the novelty passes is simply the image. Owners describe sitting down to a movie or a game and still noticing how good it looks, and one who has since bought a newer QD-OLED monitor still uses the A90K as the benchmark he judges the new screen against.

The adjustment is size. The 42 and 48 inch models sit between a monitor and a living room TV, and one owner found the 48 inch too big to live with at a desk every day. He kept it in reserve rather than selling it, which says something about how the picture is regarded even when the size does not fit.

Reliability & repairs

The one long-term account we have is encouraging: a 42 inch A90K used nightly for PS5 and PC gaming for two years, with the same game and its fixed on-screen radar, and the owner reports no problems with the panel. The same owner has an older Sony OLED from 2017 with a similar gaming history, though that is a different set and does not count as A90K evidence.

That is the extent of it. Only a handful of separate owners have written about this TV, and only one of them describes years of use. There are no accounts of failures, no accounts of repairs, and no accounts of burn-in, but with this few owners that is a gap in the record rather than a clean bill of health. We will update this page as more long-term reports come in.

Nothing has a clear majority against it yet. Counted from the owners who raised each subject, not from everyone. A subject is judged once at least 4 owners raise it.

13 more subjects came up from fewer than 4 owners each, which is not enough for a fair reading. To see how it stacks up, compare it with another machine.
