What keeps coming up
The accounts we have are thin on direct praise, but the owners who lost one had flown DJI drones for around a decade before their first loss, and one uses the Mavic 2 for paid work with only a single replacement in that time.

Owners in these accounts are long-time DJI flyers, some running it for business, who keep it in the air for years and treat flying over water as the one risk that eventually catches up.

A small number of owners lost a Mavic 2 to water, in a bay, a lake, and a foot of shallow water near shore. Two put it down to their own judgement on battery age and wind; one to an error that put the drone down in a lake. Too few raised this to call it a clear complaint.
Pick up to three. You get a page with just those, side by side, on the subjects owners raised.
Once the novelty passes, the Mavic 2 in these accounts is a working tool. The people writing about it have flown DJI drones for ten years or so, and at least one relies on it for business, which is why a loss stings more than the price of the aircraft.
The adjustment owners describe is about margins rather than the drone itself. One learned the hard way that an older battery does not deliver like a new one, and that a 10 mph headwind on the return leg is enough to bring it down short. Another now treats any flight over water as a risk that will eventually be paid for. A third flies with separate gear insurance and still feels anxious without DJI Care behind it.
What the accounts describe holding up is years of flying before anything went wrong. What ends the drone's life, in every failure described here, is water: one loss came after an error caused a landing in a lake, the others after pilot decisions about wind and battery. Owners respond by carrying gear insurance, flying more conservatively near water, and worrying about what happens if DJI Care or replacements become hard to get.
The long-term record here is thin. Three owners raised water loss, and no other theme recurred across the twelve accounts, so we cannot say how common these losses are or how the airframe, gimbal, or batteries hold up in ordinary use. Treat this page as early notes, not a verdict.
Nothing with a clear majority yet. Owners who raised these subjects were split, or too few to judge.
Nothing has a clear majority against it yet. Counted from the owners who raised each subject, not from everyone. A subject is judged once at least 4 owners raise it.
The same owner, asked again at each point. Fills in as owners answer.
