Owners keep the QM7K because it gives them a big, bright, vivid picture for far less than an OLED, and most who made that trade say they would make it again.
The picture is the thing owners keep coming back to: deep blacks for an LCD, vibrant colour, and plenty of punch, especially for people stepping up from an older or entry-level set. Several say it looks excellent right out of the box at very large sizes.
Motion handling is the clear complaint. Owners who watch a lot of sport, or who compare it directly against an OLED, describe trails and blockiness on fast movement, and one returned a large set over it.

Once the set is on the wall, what still delights people is the sheer size they could afford and how much light the panel throws, particularly in rooms that never get fully dark. Gamers and film watchers alike say the HDR impact is a real step over the cheaper QM6K, and a few who own both this and an OLED say the TCL is quite fine for a living room even if the OLED wins in a bedroom.
Brightness is where owners divide. Some call it the reason to buy over rivals; others say it comes out of the box overbright, with peak brightness and high local dimming pushing whites too hard and crushing dark scenes, and they end up dialling it well down. The OLED-versus-mini-LED question is similarly unsettled: most who raise it land on the TCL for the price, size, and freedom from burn-in worry, while accepting the OLED would look better in a dark room.
The accounts we have are mostly from the first weeks and months of ownership. In that window the panel itself draws no complaints: no reports of dead zones, failed backlights, or image retention, and several owners say the absence of burn-in risk is exactly why they chose it over an OLED.
Long-term accounts are thin, so we cannot yet say how it holds up over years. The few who dealt with TCL customer support came away unhappy, but there are too few of them to judge. The one durable pattern is returns over motion handling, which is a matter of taste, not a fault that develops.
