Mova z50

A daily vacuum-and-mop robot that homes with cats and small children keep for its clean floors and careful obstacle avoidance, at the cost of a unit that some owners have had to replace.

What keeps coming up

Owners are divided on mopping quality, but those on the positive side describe streak-free floors from daily runs across a whole flat with several long-haired cats, and one owner who moved to a different brand still rates the Z50 mop as the better one. Several also single out the way it steps around toys, hair clips and loose paper.

What keeps coming up against it

Customer support is the clear complaint: owners describe months of email back and forth over a dock that stopped working, being told to remap the entire home to fix carpet detection, and an exchange unit that failed within a few months.

Life with it

Once it is set up, the routine for the happy owners is simple: it goes out every day, vacuums and mops the whole floor, and comes back. Households with three cats and a toddler say it picks its way around small objects on the floor without bumping into them or wandering aimlessly, which is what makes hands-off daily use possible. One owner had to mark rooms that appeared in a mirror reflection as hidden before navigation settled down.

The adjustment for the long-term owners is upkeep. One put anti-slip tape on the dock ramp the day it arrived to stop docking problems, and spends five minutes twice a week cleaning the robot. Others found the app got in the way: one lost automatic carpet detection after adding and removing a carpet zone by hand, and the only fix offered was to rebuild the map. A replacement unit also arrived with a high-pitched whine at standard suction that the original did not have.

Reliability & repairs

Reliability is split down the middle. Two owners report a year or more of daily use with no failures, and both credit regular cleaning and a little preventive care for that. On the other side, one Z50 simply stopped working, another was swapped out for a mopping fault, and an owner who had it exchanged for a Z60 saw that unit die of a mop error within three months. Dock problems recur in the accounts, both as the reason for support tickets and as the thing owners fix themselves with tape.

The long-term record is thin: only a handful of separate owners describe how the Z50 has held up over time, and they disagree. What can be said is that when it fails, owners have not found support quick to resolve it, and the ones who stayed happy are the ones who maintained it themselves.

What owners praise

Nothing with a clear majority yet. Owners who raised these subjects were split, or too few to judge.

Nothing has a clear majority against it yet. Counted from the owners who raised each subject, not from everyone. A subject is judged once at least 4 owners raise it.
